Hammock Spider Rap Sheet

Name: Hammock Spider
AKA: Spinner
Scientific Name: Pityohyphrates costacus
Description: 1/8 - 1/4 inch; roundish body and 8 long slender legs. These are not insects but arachnids. Cream to light brown with narrow black lines at the edge of the carapace and a broad forked line extending from the middle of the eyes. The abdomen has a dark brown herring bone pattern at the midline. 8 simple eyes in two rows on the anterior portion of the cephalothorax.
