Caption: Potato leafhopper (Empoasca fabae). The adult potato leafhopper is winged, pale green, wedge-shaped insect about 1/8-inch long. The pale green to yellow nymphs, are wingless and smaller than the adults. Both stages feed on the undersides of leaves. They are an agricultural pest especially on potato plants. In the upper Midwest United States they are serious alfalfa pests.
